Hospital Records BBC Radio 1Xtra Takeover: Live Update 1

Posted by on Wednesday, January 25th, 2012

The Hospital Records crew are in the 1Xtra building, currently taking over the airwaves, co-hosting the Drum and Bass show with Bailey!

We have an exclusive access-all-areas pass behind the scenes of the show, keeping you updated with all the goings on throughout the 3-hour Hospital records special.

Starting the show by celebrating the new, the label’s latest signings Fred V and Grafix joined Chris Goss and Bailey in the studio, revealing their full names behind their D&B alias….and they’re wickedly cool;

Fred V aka Frederick Marc Isaac Trapnell Vahrman

Grafix aka Joshua Melrose Jackson

Danny Byrd also passed through the studio, fresh from hanging out with the Brookes Brothers earlier….but unfortunately no word that they were making music, although Danny explained that he has been busy working in the studio, hence he’s growing his hair, ‘doing a Jay-Z’!  He also took a moment to big up his home town of Bath, proudly boasting about the spas and Jane Austen museum!

Finishing the first hour of tonight’s show, instead of delivering his weekly Top 5 chart, Bailey counted down his Top 5 Hospital tracks:

5. London Elektricty ‘Different Drum’

4. Cyantific ‘Don’t Follow’

3. Danny Byrd feat. IK ‘Red Mist’

2. Logistics ‘Together’

1. High Contrast feat. Diane Charlemagne ‘If We Ever’

Listen to and watch the Hospital Records takeover live on BBC Radio 1Xtra now.

Still to come: High Contrast, S.P.Y and a live PA from Ayah Marar!
